Standardised work packages under an outcome-based contract

We run it. · Standardised work packages under an outcome-based contract

OPERATE

Planning, processes, engineering: we take on clearly defined work packages on an ongoing basis and under our own responsibility – with a defined outcome rather than simply providing capacity.

“The package has to run – and we can't find the people for it.” You don't buy consulting hours or additional headcount. You buy an outcome.

What we do

  • Defined work packages in logistics, factory, equipment and packaging planning.
  • An outcome-based contract instead of billing by the hour: what is agreed is the outcome, not the effort.
  • Ongoing responsibility with a named contact, defined response times and measurable KPIs.
  • Planning expertise built on 16 years of hands-on automotive experience.
  • Continuous transparency through HG Ops – you can see where your package stands at any time.

In depth

Container and handling equipment

Inbound containers and in-plant handling equipment are the field we have worked in longest. We assess the part in CAD, check whether the constraints can be met, design in CATIA V5 through to the manufacturing bill of materials, run the tender, accept the sample and stay with it into the ramp-up.

  3. Tendering and award
  4. Sample and acceptance

In practice

Three packages we have taken on

All projects anonymised: we do not name clients, sites or time frames.

Vehicle manufacturer (OEM)

Packaging planning for a start of production

Starting point
Ahead of SOP, the packaging for all bought-in parts had to be designed, agreed with suppliers and signed off. The in-house planning team was tied up in day-to-day business.
The package
Container concepts, coordination with suppliers and plant logistics, complete sign-off documentation through to production release.
Outcome
Sign-off was in place on the agreed date – the ramp-up ran with no packaging-related delay.

Contract: Outcome-based contract, accepted package by package.

Automotive supplier

Utilisation of inbound and outbound transport

Starting point
Transport between plants and suppliers ran on routes that had grown up over the years. Everyone knew the loads were poorly utilised – nobody had the figures.
The package
Survey of the shipment structure, assessment of load building, a new routing concept and its implementation with the forwarders.
Outcome
Fewer runs for the same delivered volume; utilisation per load is now measured and reported continuously.

Contract: Outcome-based contract, followed by ongoing support.

Automotive supplier, several sites

Logistics planning for a line relocation

Starting point
A production line moved within the plant. Material flow, floor space and container loops all had to be replanned – without stopping production.
The package
Material flow planning, floor space and container concept, relocation in stages along the production breaks that were scheduled anyway.
Outcome
The relocation ran in the planned stages; at no point did the line stand still unplanned.

Contract: Outcome-based contract with a named contact for the entire relocation.

Questions & answers

Questions about OPERATE

What does OPERATE mean at HecknerGroup?

OPERATE – We run it. stands for taking on clearly defined work packages on an ongoing basis in manufacturing. Typical services are logistics, factory, equipment and packaging planning. Unlike conventional temporary staffing, the point is not primarily to provide personnel: HecknerGroup takes on a defined work package with an agreed outcome, its own management of the work, and measurable performance.

Does HecknerGroup provide temporary staffing or recruitment services?

No. The business model of HecknerGroup is not based on making individual employees available, but on being accountable for defined tasks and outcomes. For work packages taken on for the long term, HecknerGroup organises and manages the work itself. For crisis mandates, HecknerGroup assembles operational task forces for a specific job.

Does HecknerGroup take on complete work packages on an ongoing basis?

Yes. With OPERATE, HecknerGroup takes on clearly defined work packages that can be standardised, on an ongoing basis and under its own responsibility. Instead of maintaining additional in-house capacity, companies can outsource clearly defined work packages and manage them against agreed outcomes and KPIs.
